Although kidney stones are not normally a condition that threatens a person’s life, this does not mean that they aren’t painful. In fact, kidney stones can be one of the more painful conditions around. Thankfully, if proper medical attention is sought, they are something that can almost always be taken care of.
So, what are the symptoms of kidney stones? Well, the most common symptom that people report is pain in the loin to groin area. As I said in the first paragraph, the pain can be severe, and there are plenty of people who have reported it as the worse pain they have ever felt. The next symptom you may experience is blood in your urine. While this seems very bad, it is normally just the result of minor damage inside the wall of the kidney or urethra. Another symptom that can appear in the urine is pus. Additionally, while this symptom is rare, some people will experience burning while they urinate.
In cases of kidney stones that are more advanced, some of the symptoms that may be experienced can include nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, dribbling of urine, loss of appetite and even loss of weight.
While I did state that kidney stones are a condition that can be taken care of by a medical professional, it is important that if you experience any of these symptoms, you seek medical attention as soon as possible. Like most medical conditions, kidney stones can get worse if they are ignored, so it is important that you alert a qualified medical professional to your situation so he/she can determine the best course of action to cure it.
